Tile and Flooring Takeoff Worksheet
Area per room with layout-adjusted waste, converted into whole boxes plus setting materials.
Tile is bought in boxes, so the box size usually decides your real overage rather than the waste percentage you picked. This sheet carries each room through to a whole-box count and keeps the lot number, because a second order from a different lot rarely matches the first on shade or thickness.
How to fill it in
- Measure each area separately and note the layout, since diagonal and herringbone need more waste than a straight lay.
- Apply the waste factor to the area, then divide by the coverage per box.
- Round up to whole boxes, and check whether one more box costs less than a second delivery later.
- Record the lot number from the boxes you receive.
- Add setting materials last — thinset and grout scale with tile size and joint width, not just area.
